This is one of the most common reasons people tell us they try CBD, so it deserves an honest answer rather than a marketing one.
What we can and cannot say
CBD sold as a food supplement in the UK is not a medicine, and we are not permitted to claim it treats, prevents or cures anything — nor would we want to. What we can do is describe how customers commonly build it into an evening routine, and point you to the evidence base so you can read it yourself.
A wind-down routine
People who take CBD in the evening typically do so at a consistent time, thirty to sixty minutes before bed, alongside the ordinary sleep-hygiene fundamentals: a consistent bedtime, a dark and cool room, and screens down beforehand. Those fundamentals do the heavy lifting.
If sleep is a persistent problem
Ongoing sleep difficulty is worth raising with your GP. A supplement is not a substitute for a proper assessment, and we would rather say so plainly.
